The queen's thief book series

the queen the queen

I had read The Thief but hadn’t much liked it, but I kept seeing this quote on Tumblr so I decided to keep reading. I think this was the quote that made me finally give in and read the rest of this series. He became king because he wanted to marry you. It’s another twist that you don’t quite see coming, and she really digs the knife in with this wry turn of phrase. This is definitely one of my most favorite quotes of the series! If Eddis’s best quote was “War, then,” then this one is Attolia’s. “Diplomacy,” Attolia said, “in my own name.” I mean, I didn’t particularly feel it the first time I read this book, but every time you read it again, it never fails to shock you, which only adds to its surprise factor. This was definitely a moment where the other shoe dropped for me. “Before you make a decision,” he said, “I want you to know that I love you.” Irene meaning “peace” and then …Megan Whalen Turner’s mind honestly… If you’ve read this series, you know how important this quote is. Imagine declaring war with two words her power!! One of my favorite parts about this series is that the gods interact with the humans, albeit in small ways, and this is a reminder of that. If I am the pawn of the gods, it is because they know me so well, not because they make my mind up for me.Īnother quote that just. It especially ties into the fact that some people (Gen, Helen, etc.) are favored by the gods and thus are much closer to them. It is man who names all things, even gods. The gods know themselves and have no need of names. What seems to be an exaggerated brag turns out to be true! One of the many instances where we don’t take Gen seriously and then he proves us wrong.
